Why Ophthalmology, you may ask?

Okay. Call me crazy, but I think I've decided on what I want my profession to be. I really would like to become an Ophthalmologist. Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine that has to do with the diseases and surgeries of the visual pathways. This includes the eye, brain, and areas surrounding the eye, such as the eyelids and the lacrimal system. An ophthalmologist is also considered a surgeon.

The eye is very interesting, and I think it is very neat. When I would go to eye doctor appointments for my family members, I would always see eye diagrams. They always amazed me, and still do. I think this decision came along over time, and I'm hoping it won't change.

All it takes is 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, and 3-4 years of internship.

Georgia. Hot, hot, Georgia...

Okay, I'll be honest. Georgia was fun, but it was SO hot! This is a picture of me in the cottage where the head keeper of a certain lighthouse lived. It was amazing! We also went on a dolphin tour, visited Juliette Gordon Low's house, went to the beach...it was a VERY interesting trip! I missed Ohio, though. Boy, am I glad to be home!

A Mother is a Lover

A mother is a lover
She cares for all our needs
Through all the ups and downs
Mom's solution upon we feed

A mother is a lover
Someone who knows us best
She's always in our hearts
And can pick us from the rest

A mother is a lover
Even in times of trouble
And in our time of despair
Her love for us will double

A mother is a lover
She isn't always around
But looks for us when we're lost
Our status soon is "Found"

A mother is a lover
Someone who deeply cares
No matter who it is
A mother's love is never rare

My mother is a lover
She's been with me my whole life
Just like God, she's on my side
Until the end of time
